I think I have the Winter Blues January 11, 2009
I feel so stuck in the house this week. So much Ice and cold rain. Not conditions you take an infant out in…today there was a bit of snow. I am yearning for spring already, no bundling up or worrying about ice… just putting on some footwear and go. No Christmas mania. I don’t know anyone that says Easter is their favorite holiday, but I have to say it is the one I enjoy most. I feel it’s all about rebirth and so is Spring. Things all pretty and blooming and new. Everyone decked out in their Sunday best. Everything is all rejuvenated and revived…what could make you feel better? Eh, yeh the snow is pretty, hot chocolate is yummy. It’s so much fun to find just the right gift for your loved ones. The joy on the kids’ faces when they see Santa has come. Singing Christmas songs at Church. All good time too but Springtime with all it’s colors and wonderful aroma’s (I can smell the Lilac’s my Mom-mom grows now) that is the best time of all.

I was getting my son ready for bed and reminding him he shouldn’t touch the dial on the dishwasher (he was just playing wheel of furtune with it before we went upstairs) he added “and little boys shouldn’t touch paper towels either.” I said no and didn’t give it thought. I went back downstairs to the kitchen and “surfed” into the kitchen on the waves of paper towels strewn across the floor. Good to know he plans on not touching paper towels anymore either.

The hubby and I slept through the New Year with an illness that I will save you the details from…I have been up all night with my two youngest with the same illness. I feel certain things can only get better from here…knock on wood…
